I am a seasoned & qualified HR professional that has gained a decade + experience within the Hospitality Industry with a focus on delivering impactful strategies, resourcing and services across multiple facets of the employee lifecycle i.e., people operations, employee engagement, and HR processes. Currently, I lead the HR Shared Services department at Nando’s South Africa. The impact I deliver is centered around my principles to create meaningful experiences, strengthening employee engagement and enhancing the business value proposition. I’m deeply passionate about the moments that matter in an employee’s journey -especially during onboarding and those crucial first six months. I believe how we engage with people early on shapes their connection to the company, their performance, and their long-term success. It’s about building trust, clarity, and a sense of belonging from day one which in my opinion is far underrated. Outside of work, I’m a mom of two with a new commitment to health and wellness. I’ve recently started a fitness journey and find joy in small wins — like showing up for my weekly gym sessions and choosing myself, one hour at a time.

Too often, the employee experience loses its spark after induction, leaving new hires to navigate culture, expectations, and connection on their own. This session challenges HR leaders to rethink onboarding not as a one-time event, but as a strategic engagement journey that extends far beyond day one.

Join me as we explore how to turn the first 90 days into a foundation for lasting belonging. We’ll unpack practical ways to humanize probation, elevate the check-in experience at 30, 60, and 90 days, and coach line managers to become active engagement partners — not just evaluators. You’ll leave with actionable insights, real-world examples, and a renewed belief in the power of presence, purpose, and partnership during the most vulnerable time in an employee’s journey.
